Dance Trip #1 Disney’s Imagination Performing Arts Workshop
When: Tuesday, Oct 24th – Sunday, Oct 29th Times TBA
Who: 24 HS students. Priority goes to seniors followed by juniors, sophomores and freshmen.
Transportation:
We will be taking a chartered coach bus from SOA Tuesday
and returning Sunday to SOA. It will be the responsibility of the parent to arrange transportation for your student to and from SOA since we may be departing before and/or after school hours. We will use Disney transportation to and from the hotel to parks and workshop facilities.
Itinerary:
While in Orlando, the students will be able to take a variety of classes at Disney/Hard Drive Production, tour professional facilities, meet and greet with Disney dance performers, and lastly view some of the top running shows in the dance industry.
Tuesday- Travel day to Orlando. Check into Hotel. Unpack. Pizza dinner as a group. Movie Under the Stars.
Wednesday – Dance Disney Workshop classes, EPCOT, Matsuriza stage show, Beacon of Magic, EPCOT Forever, JAMMitors, Music of Mexico, Sergio, Voices of Liberty, Chinese Lion Dance, Beauty & the Beast Sing Along, Command Performance, Dinner as a group

Cost:
The cost of the trip is $1,500.00 which includes: roundtrip transportation via a chartered bus, 5 nights of lodging at POP Century, all shows, dance workshop classes, 4 day Disney park ticket, Genie +, 2 meal certificates per day while on Disney Property (includes 2 meals a day and 2 drinks – 8 total), Halloween party ticket, resort mug, MagicBand, pizza dinner check in night, dessert party or other special event based on availability. Students would pay for breakfasts, snacks & souvenirs.
Payments:
A deposit of $500 must be paid in full and is non
refundable. Deposit secures your spot for the trip. Senior payments are due June 1st. We will then open up to 11th and 10th on June 8th and then 9th grade opens on June 15th.
The next payment is due on July 15th and is $500.00
The last payment is due on Sept 1st and is $500.00

Since payments are due over summer: Students can personally fundraise through sites such as Go fund me, donors choose and Fundly. You are welcome to share the PayPal donation page and have donations sent directly to the Booster Club. Be sure the donor includes the student & trip they wish for the donation to count toward.
Lodging:

Highlights:
● Students work directly with Disney Teaching Artists, all of whom are dance professionals currently working in the industry
● Dancers work on choreography from iconic Disney Theme Park shows exclusively available in this experience
● Participants are treated as professional cast members in a live production environment
● Students have the opportunity to gain insight into careers in live theater through Q&A with their Teaching Artist
● Your group partakes in the magic of our parks with specially priced tickets
● The dancers will present a selection from their workshop at the November Showcase at SOA
What to pack:
Students are allowed ONE suitcase and ONE personal item (bookbag/purse/fanny pack)
-Leotard (any color), tights (black no holes), solid black leggings, jazz or ballet shoes, Any SOA dance T-shirt
-Comfortable walking sneakers, clothes for the parks
– Nice outfit for dinner/shows
– Toiletries
– Chargers (portable charger also recommended), laptop/chromebook, headphones etc
– Something to do on the bus (any school work you
will miss)
– Reusable water bottle
– Money for souvenirs , snacks etc
– Small purse/fanny pack to take into parks
General Rules of the Trip:
You will be in small groups with a chaperone.
Once we leave the hotel as a group, you will not be able to return until we all return as a
group.
Check in/meet up times will be determined by chaperone.
Once it is lights out time, you are NOT allowed to leave your room. This time will be determined by Ms T daily.
Must follow all CCSD/SOA rules in the student handbook.
Failure to follow rules can result in referral/suspension/law enforcement or parents having to get you from Orlando at time of offense.
This is a trip ABOUT dance. Shows and dance events will be mandatory (not just going to ride rides).
Dance Trip #2 National High School Dance Festival
We are in the process of planning this trip and more information will be sent out when available.
When: Wednesday March 7th – Sunday March 10th, 2024
Who: 10 high school students. Since this provides opportunities for college acceptance and scholarships 11th and 12th graders will have priority for this trip. Then open to 10th and 9th graders.
Transportation:
We will be taking a plane to and from Charleston, SC to Norfolk. VA. Shuttle to and from the Airport. Parents are responsible for transportation to and from CHS airport. We suggest getting a TSA pre check for your boarding pass. https://www.tsa.gov/precheck
Draft Itinerary:
Wednesday: Travel and settle into a hotel, Dinner as a group.
Thursday: Audition day for college scholarships, summer intensives and dance programs. Dance classes, opening ceremony & concert. Dance gala for students.
Friday – Saturday: Classes & workshops, concerts, performances, dancer social party
Sunday: Closing ceremony and awards, travel to SC

- Special Master classes with guest dance company
- Workshops about the college admissions process, careers in arts management, business management, marketing for dance and performing arts, as well as creating and managing a professional dance company.
- Closing ceremony where scholarships will be awarded to students.
- Ability to showcase your work as a student choreographer.
- ALL Students from SOA in the past have received numerous summer program scholarships and networked with professional dance staff and dancers from around the nation
